I began offering Teletherapy sessions to clients in New Jersey in May, 2017. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I offered Teletherapy sessions to my Florida clients as well. Going forward, Florida clients will have the option of choosing whether they want some, or all of their sessions via Teletherapy.
With Teletherapy, I am able to expand my hours of availability and offer appointments that are more convenient and easier for my clients. Bad weather, illness, and business trips no longer necessitate missing an appointment. Clients are able to avoid driving time and traffic stress by simply connecting online using their computers, tablets, or even cell phones
Online therapy services are safe, secure, and fully HIPAA-compliant. Teletherapy sessions are never recorded. After using several platforms, I have settled on Zoom as the most stable and easiest to access for my clients. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom, all you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera, microphone, and speaker. Before each session, I will send you a Zoom invite where you simply have to click on the "Join Zoom Meeting" link.
More and more people are trying Teletherapy, with several studies concluding that patient satisfaction with face-to-face interaction and online therapy are statistically similar. However, if Teletherapy does not work for you, I will certainly make recommendations that are in your best interest. Contact me to discuss if Teletherapy is a good choice for you.
